Lectures

Students in a lecture theatre

Each week you should expect to have approximately 12 hours of lectures. You will be taking four modules each semester (with two semesters in each academic year) with roughly 4 hours of lectures per module, excluding laboratory-based courses. In lectures you will either be provided with notes by the lecturer or you will be expected to make your own notes. Your lectures are not all necessarily one after each other. It is common to have one or two lectures in a morning or an afternoon only. When you are not in lectures you will be attending labs or tutorials or perhaps be in the library preparing coursework or revising for exams.
