Careers Support

The school is committed to improving the employability of our students and we co-ordinate a range of services to support our students in gaining the skills and experience they need to enter top gradate jobs and further training.

Tailored support for our students

Our dedicated careers adviser in the Careers Service holds regular Wednesday afternoon drop-in sessions in the School of Physics. These are an opportunity to ask for help with an application or for advice in general about what you can go on to do as a graduate.

Specialist events like our Graduate Attribute Twilight (GATE) sessions for physicists and a recent software bootcamp allow our students to build skills that are valuable to a wide range of employers.

Access to excellent schemes and resources

QMUL's Careers and Enterprise Centre runs a great range of employer led events, skills training sessions and volunteering opportunities, such as the award winning QProjects scheme.

Juno Champion

The school holds Juno Champion status, the highest award of this IoP scheme to recognise and reward departments that can demonstrate they have taken action to address the under-representation of women in university physics and to encourage better practice for both women and men.
