Ciência sem Fronteiras (formerly Science without Borders) PhD Studentships

The School of Physics and Astronomy offers PhD studentships to Brazilian students in partnership with the Science without Borders programme.

Ciência sem Fronteiras is a Brazilian Government scholarship programme which aims to send Brazilian students on PhDs to study in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and creative industries at top universities around the world.

Funding packages for SwB PhD students in STEM subjects is £20,000 per student per year.  This is paid by the Brazilian funding agency through Universities UK and covers tuition and accommodation costs. In addition, students are paid a monthly stipend directly from Brazil of £1,300 for London-based students, relocation costs of £1,300, health insurance and return airfares. PhD students can also apply for funding in support of dependent children.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Brazilian nationals and are required to have at least an upper second class degree and a masters degree in a related discipline from a top university anywhere in the world. 

Evidence of proficiency in English language skills is a requirement for all international students.
