Course Information and Reading Lists

In your first year in the School of Physics and Astronomy you will take 8 modules, 4 in the first semester and 4 in the second semester.  In your first semester you will take the following modules 

• Waves and Oscillations
• From Newton to Einstein
• Mathematical Techniques 1
• Scientific Measurement 

In your second semester you will take

• Quantum Physics
• Electric and Magnetic Fields
• Mathematical Techniques 2

And then you can chose between the following two options for your fourth second semester option

• Our Universe (compulsory for Astrophysics programmes)
• Introduction to C++ Programming (Compulsory for Physics with Particle Physics programmes)
