The School will host its own event from 6.30pm on Tuesday 7th January and will be taking part in the BBC’s regional event this Thursday 9th January as part of this week of exciting astronomy activities.
In addition to the South East’s regional Stargazing Live event at Royal Holloway, University of London, Queen Mary's School of Physics and Astronomy will be hosting special event on Tuesday evening (07/01/14) to celebrate Astronomy at our Campus in East London. This family event featuring Queen Mary Astronomers will be packed with activities exploring a rich variety of space science topics.
Event attendees will be able to take part in real-time observing in the company of academics from our Astronomy Group. In case of rain or cloud we'll also be getting involved in some intriguing hands-on activities like glow rocket-making, lunar rover programming and spectroscopy. In the warmth of our historic People's Palace we'll also have fantastic line-up of expert speakers from the School of Physics and Astronomy hosting a series of entertaining talks. Bring along your astronomy questions!
