Work Experience

Monday, July 23, 2018 - 10:00 to Friday, July 27, 2018 - 16:00

This programme gives budding Year 10 and 11 physicists a first-hand experience of carrying out research in our department, during a week-long placement.  You will chose from a number of key research questions, working with current undergraduates to develop your own novel research project. By the end of the week, you should be able to demonstrate practical research skills including data analysis, report writing and presenting results.  The week will include interactive demonstrations and talks from our academics and research students, ensuring that you will gain an authentic insight into the world of university physics research. Please note we are unable to guarantee everyone a placement.

Applications for 2018 are now closed.

Please note that we cannot offer placements with individual researchers. This course is non residential, successful applicants will be responsible for travel to and from our campus each day.
