Talk to scientists at CERN, work with real particle physics data and attend particle physics lectures on this day-long Masterclass

Year 12

The Masterclass is a one day event that gives sixth form students (and their teachers!) the chance to learn about particle physics from the scientists actually doing the research. Students will gain a flavour of how real particle physics works, attending talks, workshops and working with particle physics data, sharing their findings with physicists at CERN via video link. We ask that teachers cover basic material on particles (protons, neutrons, electrons, quarks, neutrinos, muons etc.) and forces (electromagnetic, weak, strong etc.) with students before attending.

Bookings for the 2018 Masterclasses on Mon 19 Feb and Wed 21 Feb are now available.

Bookings will be required to pay a refundable deposit of £5 per student. This is to ensure the small number of places can be distributed fairly and not held for groups that do not attend.
